Protecting Your Home and Your Family
Keeping your house safe can mean many things – safeguarding your belongings, keeping your family safe from harm, and even protection from natural disasters. There are several main components to any home security monitoring system: the central controller, keypads and sensors. You can even expand your home security system by adding cameras.
Security Controller
The central controller is the brain of your home security system. It receives information from the various sensory devices, determines if there is an emergency and takes the necessary steps to protect your home.
Like a home, security controllers come in all shapes and sizes. You can choose an elaborate system to watch over several parts of the house (each area is called a “Zone”) or pick a simple security system to protect just one room – and there are systems for everything in between.
Once a central controller recognizes a potential problem in your home, it can do a number of designated tasks: call the authorities automatically, notify you by phone or pager, sound a siren, flash lights, just to name a few.
The great thing about all the home security systems in this section is that they are totally customizable to fit your specific needs; and each is expandable so you can add on in the future.
